Lipidil EZ
When combined with diet and exercise, Lipidil Ez can help control levels of blood fats. It can help lower "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL). It works by increasing enzymes that break down the fats in your blood.
This drug is generally prescribed when your blood fat levels can not be controlled by exercise, diet changes, decreasing alcohol intake, weight loss, and controlling blood sugar if you're a diabetic. Using Lipidil Ez to lower "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides may help decrease your risk for strokes and heart attacks.
How to take Lipidil Ez
Lipidil Ez is to be taken orally (by mouth), usually once a day or as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole at the same time everyday. Do not take broken or chipped tablets. Take Lipidil Ez at least 1 hour before or 4-6 hours after certain other cholesterol-lowering medications. These products can react with Lipidil Ez, preventing its full absorption.
It may take up to 2 months to get the full benefits of this drug. Do not stop taking it even if you feel fine. Most people with high cholesterol/triglycerides do not feel sick. It is also important to maintain your diet and exercise routine while taking Lipidil Ez.

Lower cholesterol with Zetia.
Zetia is used to reduce the amount of total cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, and apolipoprotein B (a protein needed to make cholesterol) in the blood. It is used with a low cholesterol diet and, in some cases, other cholesterol lowering medications.
Before taking Zetia tell your doctor if you:
- have liver disease;
- are using another cholesterol-lowering medication; or
- have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness.
Talk with your doctor first if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant as it is not known whether Zetia will harm an unborn baby. The same rule applies with breast-feeding as it is not known whether this medication passes into breast milk.
Take each dose of Zetia with a full glass of water. It can be taken once a day with or without food. Zetia should be taken 2 hours before or 4 hours after a bile acid sequestrant such as cholestyramine (Locholest, Prevalite, Questran), colestipol (Colestid), or colesevelam (Welchol).
To get the best results eat a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet. Your doctor may want to monitor cholesterol levels, liver function, or other factors with blood tests before starting and during treatment with Zetia. Depending on the results of these tests, your doctor can determine how much monitoring you will require. Unless otherwise directed by your doctor do not stop taking Zetia.
Does Zetia have any side effects?
Stop taking Zetia immediately and seek medical help if you experience an uncommon allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives). Other, less serious side effects have also been reported, such as:
- abdominal pain;
- diarrhea; or
- tiredness
Before taking Zetia, tell your doctor if you are taking another medicine to lower cholesterol such as gemfibrozil (Lopid), fenofibrate (Tricor), clofibrate (Atromid-S), atorvastatin (Lipitor), fluvastatin (Lescol), lovastatin (Altocor, Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), or simvastatin (Zocor), or any immunosuppressants like cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral, Gengraf).

Asthma Relief With Advair.
Advair treats the two main components of asthma - airway constriction and inflammation. These two components cause the airways to narrow and reduce airflow into the lungs which may result in wheezing, chest tightness or shortness of breath. Advair is a breath-activated device, eliminating all of the squeezing and shaking of inhalers and the hassle of spacers.
What is asthma?
Asthma is a chronic lung condition. It is characterized by difficulty in breathing. People with asthma have extra sensitive or hyperresponsive airways. The airways react by narrowing or obstructing when they become irritated. This makes it difficult for the air to move in and out. This narrowing or obstruction can cause one or a combination of the following symptoms:
- wheezing
- coughing
- shortness of breath
- chest tightness
The successful approach to asthma management depends on using anti-inflammatory medications with bronchodilators as needed for immediate and occasional relief of symptioms.
Anti-Inflammatory - Preventers: Anti-inflammatories are used to treat the inflammation that is caused by exposure to inducers.
Bronchodilators - Relievers (Rescue): Bronchodilators are used to relieve the bronchoconstriction provoked by triggers.
The successful approach to asthma management, both in and out of hospital settings, is dependent upon the use of anti-inflammatory treatments with bronchodilators being prescribed for immediate and occasional relief of symptoms.
It has been shown that regular, frequent use of bronchodilator therapy may actually worsen the asthma. Again this stresses the need for adding anti-inflammatory medications if bronchodilator therapy is required often to control symptoms.
How does Advair treat asthma?
It successfully treats the two main components of asthma (airway constriction and inflammation)by using:
- An effective inhaled corticosteroid: fluticasone propionate. This medicine reduces the inflammation in the airways.
- An effective inhaled long-acting bronchodilator: salmeterol. This medicine works by helping to relax the muscles surrounding the airways.
How soon after taking Advair should I notice an improvement?
You may notice improvement within 30 minutes. Maximum results may take a week or longer. It's important to keep taking your Advair twice a day, every day, as directed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor if symptoms do not improve.
Is there anything I should know before considering Advair?
Advair contains salmeterol. Patients with asthma who take medicines like salmeterol may have an increased chance of asthma-related death. Therefore Advair is not for people whose asthma is under control on another controller medicine.
If your asthma does not improve while taking Advair speak with your doctor. Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition or high blood pressure. Some people may experience increased blood pressure, heart rate, or changes in heart rhythm. Advair is for patients 4 years and older.
